Mid Century Nautical Nightstands

I'm finally able to take a few minutes to sit down and post something new for y'all to read! I have been so busy the last few weeks catching up that I haven't even been able to take photos of some of the photos of my completed projects. I have A LOT to do!

I'm apologizing now for the terrible photos on these mid-century nightstands. I took these later in the afternoon where the sunlight isn't the best in my usual staging spot.

Found these two Queen Anne style mid century nightstands at Goodwill. They were both laminate so I knew that was going to present some issues right away. I had to use shellac-based primer since that was meant to stick to anything. Then I used a custom mix of Klein Blue and Lamp Black from General Finishes. I also replaced the French Provincial Style handles on the false drawer with something more fitting and not so feminine.

I know the color on these looks super bright, but I think it's the auto processing in Blogger that made this a few shades brighter than what they truly are. I'd describe them as a dark electric blue. I'll  figure out how to stop the post upload processing once I have some time.

I call them my nautical nightstands because I think these would work perfect in a kid's room or nursery that is nautical themed. Mid Century and Queen Anne are two completely different styles, so to have them merged to make furniture like this, we couldn't very well paint them a neutral color now could we? :)
